Selling a trip by taking one
The deal that made our Italian market started with an offer to join a customer's trip to Lisbon, as a guest.

In my first year at Vandra, I spent months talking to a design studio in Turin with sixty people and an offsite every spring. They liked the demo. They did not sign.
An odd offer
So I asked if I could come on their next trip, the one they had planned the old way, as a guest. I paid my own way. I did not sell anything for three days in Lisbon. I just watched what went wrong, and wrote it down.
The list
There were eleven things on it, from a bus that never came to a dinner booked for the wrong night. I sent the list to their office manager a week later, next to how each one works in Vandra. She signed the next Monday.
What I do now
I still offer to join a trip when a team is unsure. Not every customer says yes, but the ones who do tend to stay. Italy is now our fastest growing market, and the studio in Turin has booked six trips with us.
