Two offices and one habit we never skip

Most of us work from Stockholm, Milan or home. Twice a year everyone gets on a plane, because the product we build is about meeting in person.

It started with a spreadsheet

Ten years ago, getting a team into one room meant forty tabs, three agencies and a lot of email. We still think it should take an afternoon, and we are still working on it.

  1. 2016

Two engineers plan their company offsite in a spreadsheet and decide there has to be a better way.

  2. 2018

The first hundred companies book a trip on Vandra. The team is twelve people in Stockholm.

  3. 2020

Milan opens, close to the venues we work with across Southern Europe.

  4. 2023

The new planner ships. A trip for eight hundred people now takes an afternoon to set up.

  5. 2026

2,400 companies, 30,000 trips planned and 140 of us.

How a week works

The same rhythm in both offices and at home, so nobody has to guess when to talk and when to work.

  1. Monday

    Plan

Every team writes its week down in one short doc. No meeting runs past thirty minutes.

  2. Tuesday

    Focus

No internal meetings before two. Calls with customers are the only exception.

  3. Wednesday

    Office day

Both offices fill up, lunch is on us and the hard conversations happen in person.

  4. Thursday

    Focus

No internal meetings at all. Most of the week's real work gets done today.

  5. Friday

    Show

Demos at three, in Stockholm, Milan and on camera. Anyone can show anything.

Six things we hold on to

Written down in 2019 and changed twice since. Ask anyone here about them and you will get the same answer.

  1. 01Small teams, whole problems

Five to seven people own a problem from the first sketch to the support ticket.

  2. 02Customers in the room

Every team talks to the people who use Vandra at least once a week.

  3. 03Plain words

Docs, tickets and job ads are written so a new joiner understands them on day one.

  4. 04Pay in the open

Salary bands are public inside and outside the company. Nobody negotiates in the dark.

  5. 05Leave on time

Nobody is on call for trips at night. Partners in each city handle the late flights.

  6. 06Disagree, then commit

Say it in the doc or the meeting. Once it is decided, we all build the same thing.

The offices

Come in as often as you like. The twenty of us who work remotely get a trip to either one whenever they want.

Where we have been

Two company trips a year, planned on Vandra by whoever volunteers. Somewhere none of us has been before.

  1. Colleagues walking a tiled street in Alfama with the river below
    Spring 2026140 people

    Lisbon, Portugal

Three days, one product review and a long dinner in Alfama.

  2. Colleagues pulling suitcases along the snowy harbour in Tromsø
    Autumn 2025132 people

    Tromsø, Norway

Planning for 2026 by day, the northern lights by night.

  3. Spring 2025120 people

    Seville, Spain

The first trip booked end to end on our own new planner.

  4. Autumn 2024104 people

    Turin, Italy

A hackathon in an old car factory, and a lot of coffee.

What people ask us

The questions that come up in almost every first call, answered before you have to ask.

Can I work fully remote?

Yes, from anywhere in Europe. Twenty of us do, and the company pays for the trips to either office.

Do I need Swedish or Italian?

No. We work in English. Both offices run free language lessons if you want them.

Are the team trips mandatory?

No, but almost everyone goes. If you cannot travel, we plan a part of the trip you can join from home.

How are salaries set?

Each level has one band, the same in both offices, published on every role and on the benefits page.

Do you help with relocation?

Yes. Visa, flights and the first month of housing are on us, plus a local buddy for the first weeks.

How fast do people grow?

Levels are reviewed twice a year. About one in five people moved up a level in 2025.

The next trip has a seat for you

18 roles are open across five teams, all with the salary band on the page.

  • The salary band is on every role
  • Work from Stockholm, Milan or anywhere in Europe
  • Two team trips a year, paid for
  • An answer within two weeks of applying
